They shine a light on their favourite 3 Wise Men Clothing.

How does an American end up in NZ running a business hiring out iconic British vehicles to tourists from all over the world?

For Bill Neville it all started when his mate’s Dad bought home a classic Land Rover Defender twenty years ago back in his home state of New Jersey. “It was love at first sight,” Bill laughs, “I knew then and there I had to own one.” A couple of decades on and the number’s reached over 50, and counting.

But this is no crazy-obsessive behaviour (well maybe a little!). Rather, Bill has turned his passion into Trekker Adventures - a successful adventure tourism company that hires out classic and modern Land Rovers and other 4WDs to tourists all over the country.

“I got married in a 3 Wise Men suit in a small ceremony in Hawaii seven years ago. I still love wearing it.”

“I love helping people experience the real NZ in their dream vehicles,” he says, “As total enthusiasts themselves, they love all the Landy quirks - rattles and all.”

“I’m into things that are simple, clean, & timeless. 3 Wise Men fits this - and me - to a tee." My favourites for the summer months are the Harry Cotton Cashmere Knit, $130 / included in the 3 for $300 bundle, and the Charlie Chino shorts, $90 paired with the Aruba Short Sleeve Shirt, $130 / included in the 3 for $300 bundle or the Royal Blue Portland Polo, $90 / 2 for $120 polos.

Bill came to NZ with a global pharmaceutical company over a decade ago. He soon fell in love with the country (and his now wife), and “the awesome amount of Landies on the roads.”

The seed was sown to leave the “big job” and follow his dream. The clincher was his early adoption of roof-top tents. Originally designed to keep out deadly animals in Australia and Africa, here in NZ Bill saw that they could simply provide total freedom. “There’s something magical about sleeping on the roof. My two kids aged seven and six can’t get enough of it, so sometimes I just park a Landy at home and have a sleepout with the kids in the tent!”

Mind you, nothing compares to Bill’s favourite drives which include the incomparable Molesworth Station and the run up to Glenorchy from Queenstown, “with the obligatory stop at the pub of course.”

The same reasons Bill loves Land Rovers is also the reason he’s a 3 Wise Men fan. “I’m into things that are simple, clean, & timeless. 3 Wise Men fits this - and me - to a tee. In fact, I got married in a 3 Wise Men suit in Hawaii seven years ago. I still have it and love to pull it out for special occasions.

Right now, Bill’s gearing up for his busiest summer yet with people from all over the world signing up for a unique experience. Further afield, conquering Australia and America is on the list.

We’re banking it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
